Mendocino County California
With 90+ miles of coastline, Mendocino County has a beach for everyone! The southern coastline is home to the great sweep of Manchester State Beach, a favorite with locals is the pristine cove at Jug Handle State Reserve. For a bonfire, head to Blues Beach or camp at Usal Beach in the Lost Coast.

Mendocino County is filled with wondrous groves of old-growth redwoods and wooded areas that line the rivers that wind through the county. Take a trip on the Skunk Train where the trees are so close to the line, you can reach out and touch them as the train moves by. From the rolling hills and lush vineyards of the inland valleys to the rivers and lakes that thread the county, there's plenty to explore! Adventure on the Eel River as it winds northward or take a lazy float south down the Russian River. Head into the wild of Round Valley and the snow-tipped mountains that mark the Yolla Bolly Wilderness. Small towns are a fact of life in Mendocino County where the largest city, Ukiah, has a population of about 28,000 people; but being the County Seat there are many shopping and service options not often found in smaller cities. Many smaller outlying communities are a joy to explore offering quiet coastal experiences, and vineyard and winery tours.
